From February 21 - 23, 2003, I was the Guest Composer in the Music Department at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. On the first day, I addressed the Student Music Society, and then coached the Helding/Blyth duo in an open rehearsal. The duo is comprised of Lynn Helding, mezzo-soprano and Jennifer Blyth, piano, and they rehearsed two of my song cycles -- Mystery (five settings of Sara Teasdale) and The Metropolitan Tower and Other Songs (six settings of Sara Teasdale). On Sunday February 23, 2003, on the Fine Arts at First series held at the First Lutheran Church in Carlisle, the duo presented their program entitled : Love, Loss and Longing: The Songs of Lori Laitman and Libby Larsen.
