"DREAMING"
review by Payton MacDonald
Albany's newest release includes a healthy selection of songs composed by Lori Laitman. She is an able song composer who has explored this genre in depth for many years now. Her experience and talent is evident here and well supported by a star-studded cast of singers and pianists. I especially enjoy Randall Scarlata's expressive and varied voice. I am also taken with Ms. Laitman's creative doubling of baritone and double bass on Holocaust 1944. Gary Karr turns in a typically excellent performance. Some of our culture's most important poets are represented as well, including Emily Dickinson and William Carlos Williams.
