This six song cycle is drawn from the Vedem oratorio, commissioned by Music of Remembrance. Poems are by Petr Ginz (1928-1944), Hanuš Hachenburg (1929-1944), Zdeněk Ornest aka Orče (1929-1990), and Josef Taussig (1914-1945).

ERRATA for VEDEM ORATORIO and VEDEM SONGS.

JUST A LITTLE WARMTH:

39-40, violin — the octave may be incorrect in some versions. The phrase starts on a B a 7th above middle C and continues in that register until 41.

In THOUGHTS:

53, the F# should be up an octave, and 15 should be completely slurred.

Change original tempo to quarter=92; also change marking to 92 at 32.

82 add forte to Mezzo and Clarinet and Piano in full score.

88 remove metronome marking.

In FAREWELL TO SUMMER:

34-36, piano, Right Hand: The A in the chord should be an A#.

69-70, piano, Left Hand: the Abs should be tied across the bar line .

This oratorio was commissioned by Mina Miller, Founder and Artistic Director of Music of Remembrance, and made possible by a generous grant from the William O and K Carole Ellison Foundation. Music of Remembrance (MOR) premiered the work at the Illsley Ball Recital Hall in Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA on May 10, 2010.
